Philippine payment platform Coins.ph has faced restrictions on certain incoming payment services following regulatory action by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), according to reports published on October 14, 2026. The development has drawn attention to compliance requirements for digital payment providers and the importance of effective transaction monitoring.

The restrictions affect incoming Philippine peso transfers through InstaPay and PESONet, as well as QRPH collection services. Coins.ph said these services were temporarily unavailable while it worked to meet the regulator’s requirements. However, digital asset trading, outgoing transfers and bill payments remained available.

The situation follows reports of regulatory scrutiny over transactions allegedly connected to offshore gaming businesses. Coins.ph stated that its central bank licence remained valid and that it was working with the regulator to strengthen its internal controls. The BSP has not publicly established that Coins.ph committed the alleged violations, and no confirmed licence revocation order was reported.
